The Garland Ketubah represents a survey of the artist’s favorite plants and trees from her own garden, many within view of her drawing table. The fern shows its spidery roots. The white oak offers hopeful clusters of acorns to be tucked away for later. Hops grow wild, to shore up celebrations. Hellebores burst forth in chilly winter, while persimmons beckon from their branches like gems to stave of the coming autumn chill. Stupendous peonies crown the wreath, bursting forth in all their sumptuous glory to announce warm and joyful days to come.
A sinuous garland. A gorgeous treasure.
